Students from across the valley gathered with family for a memorable afternoon that included portraits, a lunch banquet, and an emotional scholarship reveal. The Rogers Achievers Scholarships range from $20,000 to$100,000 and are valid toward tuition and college expenses at any accredited university or college in the United States.
Five students were awarded $20,000 scholarships, and five others received $40,000. Then came a surprise twist—Beverly Rogers, Chair of The Rogers Foundation, invited two students to the stage: Charlotte Flake of Coronado High School and Kai Kilker of Las Vegas Academy. Both were stunned to learn they would receive a $100,000 scholarship. Charlotte’s award came from The Rogers Foundation, while Kai’s was made possible by a generous gift from the estate of Susan Turney.
“Scholarship season is truly a highlight for us,” said Janae Downey, Chief Financial Officer of The Rogers Foundation. “These students shine on paper, but in person, they’re even more inspiring. They embody the future—and it’s an absolute joy to help support their next chapter.”
Over the past several months, hundreds of applicants submitted essays, transcripts, and test scores. The Foundation’s selection committee conducted a thorough review, followed by interviews to identify the final 12 scholarship recipients.
“These remarkable young people have not only overcome obstacles—they’ve excelled,” said Rory Reid, CEO of The Rogers Foundation.“It’s clear they’re going to make a real difference in the world, and we’re proud to help launch their college journeys.”
“The scholarships honor my late husband, Jim, whose passion for education was unwavering,” said Beverly Rogers. “Seeing the smiles andtears on stage reminded us why we do this. These students are our future leaders, and we can’t wait to see what they’ll accomplish.”
