The Rogers Foundation Names Janae Downey, CPA as Chief Financial Officer

Downey has consulted for The Rogers Foundation since November 2019 playing a key role in the organization’s financial management. In her new role, she will manage the Foundation's overall financial health and strategic financial planning. Additionally, she will direct and administer programs including the awarding and distributing of annual college scholarships.

Together with the executive leadership team of Chief Executive Officer Rory Reid and Chairman of the Board Beverly Rogers, Downey will be an integral part of the foundation established in 2013 as a single channel through which charitable efforts are made to honor the legacy of Jim Rogers.

Downey holds a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where she graduated with a 4.0 GPA and received an Honors Medallion. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Brigham Young University (BYU).

Before joining The Rogers Foundation, Downey worked at Marrs Bergquist CPAs specializing in individual, partnership, corporation, and not-for-profit tax return preparation. She also served as an accountant at Layton, Layton & Tobler LLP CPAs from October 2013 to June 2018, where she prepared financial statements and monthly compilations, performed audit and review procedures, and handled quarterly payroll tax and monthly sales tax return preparation. Downey's earlier experience includes her role as an accountant at Jason L. Downey, DDS. Additionally, she served as an accountant at Arthur Andersen in California.

Originally from Utah, after a brief stint in Los Angeles, Downey and her husband moved to Las Vegas in 1999. They have five children and are a very musical family, playing various instruments including the piano, violin, cello, organ, and French horn. Downey also volunteers as the Controller for Zion’s Youth Symphony and Chorus.
